Pulse Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition of Kristina’s paintings for the month of April. Opening night will be 4/3/13 in conjunction with First Thursday in the Pearl at their location at 328 NW Broadway #117, Portland, OR 97209.
From The Show Announcement - “In her energetically layered oils, the up-and-coming Ms. Koenig uses her paint brush like a surgeon’s knife, splaying open her subjects and reconstructing them to reveal the stuff within. Her whirling backgrounds and slashing reds draw you, unknowingly, to the dominate theme.
Her “Bear Market”, a hugely fierce Grizzly-like creature, combines the force of nature and the darkness of a crooked hedge fund manager. It is this antithesis that makes her work both whimsical and cynical, and always interesting to view.”
