“The Flesh of the Beast” exhibition is a show case of recent paintings by Gavin N. Eveland. It confronts the metamorphosis of the body as a hybrid state of visceral carnality, attraction, and repulsion. The works are cocooned from the external world; the transmutations conjure bestial menageries, internally. The art bursts with excess and encourages allure for the imagination. It is not what is but what will be.
